Application of spray drying desulfurization technology in protecting ecological environment

  As the world's energy consumption increases year by year, the burning and utilization of coal as a primary energy source releases a large amount of sulfur dioxide and regional acid rain formed by it, which has caused serious pollution to the environment. It damages the ecological balance, causing extensive destruction of forests, acidification of soil and lakes, and corrosion of buildings.

Among many desulfurization technologies, the use of spray drying to remove sulfur dioxide from flue gas is a more and more important technology. This technology was studied in the 1970s and has been put into commercial operation at the end of the 1970s. It features less investment, simple operation, high sulfur removal efficiency and no secondary pollution. Compared with the wet method widely used in flue gas desulfurization, the powder product formed by spray drying desulfurization has greater selectivity and development value.

  An important prerequisite for the wide application of spray drying gum sulfur technology is to solve the problem of reasonable development and utilization of a large amount of dried powdered sulfate. It can be recycled as an absorbent, and some dry materials can be recycled, used as an additive to the earth, converted into a paste used as a retarder for cement, made into granular artificial sand, and used as a filler for building materials to replace common concrete and asphalt.
